Servants
The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' Matthew 25:40

We, at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, greatly appreciate individuals and organizations who partner with us to provide year-round support. A number of churches and other organizations have chosen to give one day each month to completely or partially staff our facility.
This gift of time may seem a small item to some; however, these volunteers are irreplaceable in sharing their experience with new volunteers who also wish to be effective in their service. Many who volunteer comment on how they walk away from the experience feeling more blessed by having done so, than what they feel they have contributed in action. We want you to know that you who volunteer and give of your time, it is you who bless us. If you wish to volunteer in some way you are welcome to come any time prior to 9:30am to lend your assistance in preparing the meal and dining room. We (Scott and Steve) arrive each day at 7AM.
If you wish to serve, come by 9:30am so we can get you oriented to where you might serve. Coffee, newspapers, doughnuts, and juice are all available at 10:00am to the patrons who enter. At 10:30am we start serving the elderly and disabled trays after announcements and prayer, those able to go to the window counter are asked to do so. Volunteers are encouraged to help people with their trays following their eating or wipe tables off so others might sit and eat as they come in. Volunteers are encouraged to engage in conversation with patrons and talk with people. Faith is an action word here and love for our brothers and sisters is all about action, but sometimes we are asked to listen.
We also seek people willing to pray for our ministry, the staff, volunteers, and for our clients.
